WHAT CLIENTS SAY
"Everything looks terrific! We very much admire both your work ethic, dedication to your vision and meticulous technique. This is new and exciting, but also somewhat reminiscent of some of the great works of florentine and venetian mosaic artists hundreds of years ago. Really impressive!”
Jamie White & Joakim SilvanderssonKåseholm Estate, Sweden
”Oh my, the art you create! So beautiful I’m in love! Your fantastic mirrors are true craftsmanship and ’To Vincent’ is simply magic. Future antique specialists, children and grand children will marvel over your creative work.”
Annika GrimhallStockholm, Sweden
Client mail no. 1: ”We’re renovating our guest bathroom, but haven’t made any decisions on material, color or light. We want to start with a Shellman mirror first and then proceed with decisions from there.” Mail no. 2: ”The ’Nebula’ mirror is up now and it’s beaming from the wall.” One year later, mail no. 3: ”We now need a new Shellman art work – a silvery shell flow.”
Karl AnderssonHelsingborg, Sweden
”Both mirrors are in place now. They look absolutely magnificent and are so beautifully made. They exceed all our expectations. We feel so lucky to have your beautiful work in our house – thank you so much for letting us in to your magical world.”

”When we first came across Mikael and Buster’s works we were blown away by the combination of craftsmanship and a poetic sensitivity to the material. We are so thrilled to have one of their pieces in our studio and look forward to collaborate on more artworks for clients in the future."
Maria SarhammarSparrow & Weston Interior Design, Stockholm
”Our shell mirror has just arrived. We just love the piece, it is beyond beautiful and has far exceeded our expectations. Unboxing instructions were perfect. No damage during shipment, unpacking or hanging – truly remarkable how well it all went.”
Karl MartinDelaware, USA
”We love our mirrors – the full body mirror is just amazing. Each day we admire the little details and your creative ideas more and more. The jaws drop on each guest that come and visit. There’s a discussion about which is the most beautiful of the two. In my mind, they’re both winners.”

SHELL ART WITH EXCELLENT FINISH
When we started out in 2018 we did so with a mantra: good enough is not enough. Final finish is everything.
Size and style, color and complexity, shape, shine and the “shell topography” vary. But our creative standard is equally high in all pieces. Pictures bring out some of the magic in our work, but they can't beat the real deal. So come visit us!
SHELLMAN IS TWO SHELL MEN IN TWO STUDIOS
Shellman is actually two shell men – step dad and step son. Mikael Hjärtsjö left a career in advertising and stepson Buster Eriksson made a sharp turn from Apple. For years, fingers had been itching to do tactile work and eventually we decided to pursue a new career as shell artists. In 2018 we set up the Shellman studio with the intention to create shell art with close attention to details.
In May 2023 we opened our second studio in central Amsterdam.
ALWAYS UNIQUE, ALWAYS ORIGINAL
Every Shellman piece is unique – no two are alike. The mood of the day and inspiration from nature, science, music, pop culture or world events can set us off in any direction. It’s often reflected in our naming of a finished piece. Anything and everything is possible and we believe in an open mind – immediate dismissal of seemingly stupid ideas is a no-no.
OUR SHELLS ARE ABUNDANT OR COMMON
Our shells come from near and far. We collect empty cockles, mussels, clams and other shells from our local shores and we partner with local restaurants to reuse their waste oyster shells. Shells from other waters are abundant or common and we buy only from reliable sources with all necessary papers in order.

Great glue. Working well.
Easy to use and very forgiving as it dries clear. Enjoying working with it. Thank you
Got an extra bottle of this for other crafty projects around the house. Specifically like it for creating miniatures. Way better than the original Noch glue.
